I took a class on the IS F about 2 months ago and they were saying the GS f
would be out sooner than people were expecting.Possibly 1 yr. out.

A Lexus College course perhaps? I hope the 'sooner than expected' report is true. That said, I'm wondering whether a new 4GS might come sooner or later...

I would expect some spy photos (I guess vids) of a LOUD GS running at stupid speeds around Nurburgring if we were going to see this car in a year or so.
If they just strap a turbo on a GS460, I'll pass.
Has Lexus ever sold a car that was not normally aspirated?
I don't think Lexus would build something thats stressed out and easily breakable. Think about the IS-F, 416 hp isn't that impressive out of that motor (still a great car though)
GS-F needs to take a bigger step out to shine and compete. I've been waiting for this car since I bought my '06 and eyeing the E63 if Lexus lags.

It was a Lexus college course.I got to drive the IS F,600h and the LX570.No hard info on the GS F just some rumors from the higher ups.It will be a detuned LF A motor. And they said it will be out alot sooner than expected. It will be a 3GS.Everbody talks about a body style change but the last GS was on a 7yr cycle. This body style is not even 3 yrs old.It just had its face lift just like the 400-430 did after 2 yrs and it ran for another 5yrs. before being changed.

My dealer is saying that the GS-F will be out either spring or summer next year. With the economy getting worse they may decide to delay it, but so far that is what I have heard.

Actually, the body style is a little over 3 years old. Production of the 3rd gen GS began in early 2005 (sold as a '06 model).

Thanks for the info, bigL. Yes, it makes sense that there would be enough time for the GS-F to come in and be a part of the GS model cycle. I do get the sense that the 3GS design potential hasn't been totally fulfilled, the recent GS 460 helping but a GS-F would be a whole other field.

That said, I hope Lexus doesn't let the 3GS get too long in the tooth later on. Maybe right now there's some GS-F prototypes testing in Japan, who knows, we did see IS-F prototypes at the Nurburgring before release...

youtube has a good amount of LF-A videos.
I would expect something about the GS-F if it were close.

I would just wait for the next gen M5 instead of a GS-f, Lexus lags on everything!!!

I wouldn't pay over 70 grand for 3rd gen GS-f, when the 4th gen GS comes out in 3-4 more years then maybe I would consider the GS-f but with a 3rd gen design just seems late!!!!

I don't think Lexus is that stupid, 2012 or 2013 seems like a better move then 2009 when the next gen 5 comes out then the GS-F has to compete with a whole new breed of M5!!!!

The IS-F has perfect timing same time has the new m3!

Just build the GS-F to compete with the M5.
I dont think a 570HP V10 is out of the question.
...then comes the question of what to do with the LS??
BMW doesn't have an M7 (yet) but Mercedes is ruling it with the S63/S65.
