Anyone else get some fade out or skipping on their signal occasionally that self resolves on a 2007 GS350, or other? I am talking about in the wide open areas.
we have sirius in 1 car and xm in other. both are reliable in open space. both drop on occasion when there are trees that are close or canopy secondary roads but would say, unscientifically, that xm is more reliable. both are well into the accpetable range. Just from your brief description, there is something wrong. Antennae placement is key if you aren't using the shark fin. Outside better than inside in my experience. If inside, even things like window tint can be a factor.

I know exactly what youre talking about. I just dont know what it is.
I have an LX and it's happening in it, I called XM on the way to drop the car off at the dealer for a service the other day. I have another Lexus with XM and never had the chance to have both cars near each other when the "fading/skipping" happened to see if the other car did it.
Now I know I'm not crazy....
I don't have this issue in our '07 w/ OEM XM (using shark-fin). You might go online to your XM account or call them and have the signal "refreshed" to the unit in your vehicle.
