Default HID 6000-8000K bulbs for GS models

I am trying to upgrade my HID lights on my GS... I currently have the white look ( i think 4300k ?) and I want to upgrade them to the 8000k (blueish-white)... I found some bulbs on Ebay but I was not sure if these are any good... Any one upgrade their HID's to the 8000k bulbs ? Let me know what you think please... Thanks

I personally think these bulbs are not bad, I have 6000K bulbs right now and loving it, I am not sure how much of a different a 8000K bulbs is going to back it it might just make it more blue.

Is that for one or two bulbs? I want mine to look more like acura, guess thats the 6k, but all those pics with the 8k looks like most bmw, acuras. I have a feeling its too blue for me to use. But at the same time, I dont want plain jane white.

my advice, do 6000k. that's the max i would go. 8000k and above and you might just as well take an extra flash light to help you on the road

bmw and acuras don't have 8000k, they are also 4300k, it's just the optics and the flickering

rominl- Oh I know that. I just meant what it looks like to other cars. Its really the projector lens. Which makes me think that Lexus, while liking the bluish color for movies (see Minority Report) and show cars, doesnt want Lexus to have the "blue" look in real life.

It’s really a matter of form or function. Blue light might be ok for a show car, but in every driving, less blue mean more visibility, especially in the rain.

Interesting, I never really thought of that... I really like the blue lights, but I guess I'd rather have clear visiblity in the rain...

I went with the 6000k Xenon depot bulbs. They are great, and the light is still effective in rain and at night. I wouldnt want to sacrifice visibility too much.

I guess it really depends on your eye sight. My eyes are pretty bad at night, when I switch from 4300K to 6000K bulb in my last car, it was almost like having no light on in the rain. The rule of thumb is you lose 6 to 7% of lumens for every 2000K you go up, but its not just the lumens that matters, its how diff. color light reflects off the wet road surface.

I had experience with 6k, 7k and 8k, I love the 6k the most, but now I have Bellof 5800k HID replacement. The visibility is great with a little purplelish and pure white.

DS4 will not work with older type ballasts such as the type Lexus use because steady on voltage is only 36 volts.
