Default Decision Time: Intake / Exhaust Combo's

Ok... after reading thru pages of Tanabe inspired posts,... a few anti HKS posts....

I am trying to get a good feel for those who feel they got HP gains from their mods,...as that is what I'm after without being obnoxious.

I am leaning towards the HKS exhaust,... not so sure about the intake over any of the other options... but can't see how a full HKS setup would be bad.

Any insight before I pull the trigger???

Also, anyone aware of any specials on either the HKS or Tanabe products and best places to buy. Look at Carson's page,... not sure where else to look.

I have the Tanabe exhaust with Fujita intake upfront. It definitely added a little pop without sounding obnoxious.

Do a google search for the exhaust, you will find several companies have it and will compete to give you the best price. Carson was actually way off on the price of the Tanabe exhaust.

If you decide to get the HKS setup, let me know how you like it and post audio clips if possible. I'm looking at this setup myself, but I wanna know if it drones or not. My wife would kill me if it drones like my 350Z setup w/ an Injen exhaust.

I'm running Tanabe Exhaust and Joe Z intake on my GS350.

silver flare has them on his car.. he traded in his tanebe for the HKS due to the short tips on the tanebe not visible when the kits are on.

i sat in the car.. it's far from loud IMO, not even in the V8

I like the HKS design better,... and it appears to be catback...

having had HKS products on other cars in the past, i'd say I got hp gains from them and they are a respectable player in the game...

I wonder if anyone has dyno'd a 3G GS300... prior to mods...

If you don't care about the HKS "drone" sound around 1300 to 3000 (approx) rpm, you will like the HKS. IMO it looks a lot better than the Tanabe.
