Default WHP gains on exhausts?

I am debating over a few exhausts. The two I mainly have in mind are
the lexus hks exhaust and the tanabe exhaust. I am wondering how many extra horses they put to the wheels over the stock system. If anyone have any other recommendation on exhausts that would be nice too ( I prefer it not to be too loud...just nice and deep and not too big of tips). I don't really mind that the Lexus HKS exhaust is over 2 times the tanabe or many other exhausts cause it looks so much nicer but I am also pondering the performance gains.

HKS and Tanabe have the exact same gains in HP which is very minimal. Tanabe sounds quieter while the HKS from a lot of people sound much, much louder. I wouldn't even consider getting an exhaust anymore, unless you must have the sound.

its not worth spending 600 bucks on exhaust if you only want it for performance gains because you wouldn't gain anything noticible. Get an intake instead. It also sounds good.

At most youll gain is roughly around 5-7hp. With a little better kick in the low rpms. Tanabe is quiet in low rpms, WOT it gets noisier. HKS is just lots of noise from the start.

But still not as noisy as the HKS. If you want a deep tone but not loud, get the Tanabe.

Actually it's the other way around. The Tanabe gets quieter as the rpms rise.

Exactly, My Tanabe sounds great at lower RPM but nothing higher....that is when I hear my K & N start to speak to me.

That's a very nice and decent sound you want from top exhaust systems (Tanabe). Growl under initial acceleration, but quiet as you start driving it. Just like the G35 coupes, stock. They are exactly like that.

If you must get an exhaust system that sounds nice, Tanabe is the best.

hey man, check out borla off - road exhaust http://www.hopupracing.com/boreexcatbae.html
it sounds great, but its a little costly =[
you can also check out the difference between tanabe and borla exhaust with the is350, from this youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbHWl...elated&search=
i think the borla sounds mean as hell , but im still debating if its worth the extra $600
happy hunting!

What about the LMS exhaust? They show a 25 HP gain on l-tunedparts.com. Is this in competition with all the other exhausts?

an X pipe won't have much more over an H pipe. The big difference is the removal of the secondary cats on the LMS, Borla, and i think the Megan exhausts.

Yeah not too much of a difference, but through the grapevine I'm hearing 3-4 peak hp with the X over the H and about 1.5 peak hp each for the secondary cats.

I guess I gained more due to my system replacing my cats... I gained 16rwhp.. I don't think any exhaust over $500 bucks would be worth 6-7rwhp... Mine was almost a grand...

I went from 252rwhp with just my Injen SRI Intake to 268rwhp with adding the Megan OE RS Racing Exhaust...

>>>NOT MY CAR BELOW<<<< Just the pic that they adv.
