Electronic keys won't work
This is probably a dumb question and an easy fix but for one reason or another the electronic keys aren't working. The batteries aren't dead, when I push the lock or unlock button the red led on the key light up but nothing happens to the car. The car doors don't lock or unlock.
When I get into the car, nothing works. The seat doesn't adjust, the door locks won't work and the engine light button is green.
I've tried pressing the break and pushing the engine start button but nothing happens. I've tried holding the key up to the button and nothing happens. Pretty much nothing happens. Can't get the key to do anything.
Anyone else had this experience and if so how is it resolved?
Thx,
Eric

when you press on the start the screen doesn't even say "key not detected"?
if so, something is wrong with your car, not the key, especially when seats, etc.. are not working. some major fuse blew out?

I'm starting to think the battery must be dead. The only thing that doesnt make sense is the start engine button has a green light. Other than that absolutely nothing works in the vehicle. I can't believe they didn't put a manual key start as well as the electronic start. I've had lots of issues with this car.

that's why i said might be fuse. if battery is completely dead, you shouldn't see light
and i think you have some bad logic. what does that have to do with mechanical key to start the car?! if the car battery is out, i can care less if you have start button or mechanical key, you can't start the car either way.
and even in the case of battery in the remote is out, there is a way still for you to start the car (it's explained clearly in the manual). but this case doesn't apply to you at all anyway

the difference with a manual turnover is that I would be able to hear the ignition clicking and would be able to diagnose the issue as a battery issue. With the electronic start, it is more difficult to diagnose. Not knowing if it is a key issue, a start button issue or perhaps something else.
I did hold the key up to the start button and this did not work. I'm going to try and jump it tomorrow morning. I am unaware of any lights or other accessories being left on so if jumping doesnt work I'll be calling the lexus dealer.
