it was the battery. For some reason after sitting for just 3 hours the battery died. When I boosted it there weren't any accessories on or anything that would have depleted it. The cold weather wasnt an issue as it was 40.

I believe I have a bad battery. Shouldn't be dying as the car is only 2 years old and has less than 13000 miles.

I'll monitor the issue and if it happens again we can contribute it to a bad battery or some faulty wiring draining the juice.

Thanks for the upgarde. Its good to know as a troubleshooting tool that the green light on the ignition button still lights even with a dead battery. I wonder what is powering that LED.

yes, normally the light is only green when you have the key in the car and your foot in the brake. In my instance the light was constantly green even without having the key in the car. It was thr only thing working. An additional FYI it took a long time to boost the lexus. I had the boost vehicle hooked up and running for 15 minutes before I got anything. If it happens to you, don't dismiss it as a battery issue just because it doesnt get a fast boost.

I really think I could have saved a ton of time if we had a manual ignition as I would have heard the click and diagnosed it as a battery issue.
