2008 gs 350 - trouble starting!

2008 gs 350 - trouble starting!
I have a 2008 gs350 purchased about a month ago. Most mornings the car takes 3 attempts to start. It will crank for 8-10 seconds without starting. This will repeat a second time. On the third attempt it normally starts but not without cranking for several seconds. After starting, it idles very roughly for several seconds before a normal idle is established. The problem seems to be related to the engine being completely cold because it will start quickly after the engine is warm. I'm using 93 octane premium fuel.
Corporate lexus informed me that they are working on the issue and don't have any idea when/if they will fix it. They believe it is a software problem and is evidently related to a certain range of vin numbers. My local dealership re-created the problem and sent me back home with the car. They don't know what to do to fix the problem either and are waiting for "corporate".
Has anyone else out there had a similiar experience? Needless to say, I am extremely dissapointed and frustrated with this "quality" experience.
