I bought the lastest navigation disc recently (got it for xmas actually) and I just wanted to be sure I do it right? All I need to do is put it in the drive, or do I need to do something special?

 

You need to remove the old DVD first. Check the sticky up top of the 3GS section. It should have a how to or lead you to one. Better yet, use the search.

 

In order to get the Loading.KWI file for your new Gen 5 Ver 7.1 Nav DVD to load you may have to pull the fuse for the Nav display and leave it out for 7-10 minutes.

Otherwise the Loading.KWI file from the current Gen 5 Ver 6.1 DVD may still be there running the Ver 7.1 maps.

Then you replace the fuse and install the new Ver 7.1 DVD. You should check this with your dealer.
