Default Louder Blinkers?

At highway speeds and even with no music playing, the blinkers are so quiet as to be completely inaudible, so, if you accidently leave them on when changing lanes, there is no warning other than some guy flashing his lights at you, telling you you're an idiot.

(For the record, the 2GS has the exact same problem.)

On the 2008 is there a way, possibly done by the dealer, to get them to be loud enough to be heard and hence useful? (This is not a problem at low speeds, so long as you don't play any music.)

Given its position, size, etc. It is very easy not to notice if you're busy driving.

Is there anything about the 3GS that doesn't irritate you? Your threads read like an indictment as to why NOT 2 buy a 3GS

My suggestion would be a hearing aid. I agree that the blinker volume is low but that's a reason for me personally to love the car. I would assume that most of us can hear the blinker fine while cruising on the highway with no music on. Therefore the reason you can't hear it is not really because the low blinker volume but because of your hearing.

Actually I had a hearing test recently and my hearing is fine. My wife and my son also say the same thing about the sound.

My question isn't why I can't hear it but whether anyone has successfully found a way to boast the volume. Most other cars I can hear fine.

But I said that the 3GS blinker is EXACTLY the same as the 2GS.

And, for the record, I promised an updated report about my original comfort complaints after I drive the 2008 for a month. Stay tuned. And, as I said in my original posts, I *love* the 3GS's car's looks, gadgets and power. I still do, so there is whole a lot, as I have carefully said along, that doesn't irritate me about the 3GS but that I *love*.

Déja Vu!

As for your question of is there a way to boast the volume successfully, my guess is no. Honestly, if all of you agree that it's too low to be heard, then it may be a problem with your car. My significant other and I can hear it perfectly fine.

Yes, there does need to be a way to adjust the volume levels on ALL warning sounds. And, as our population ages, this will increasing become a problem.

I suspect that eventually at least high end car makers will pick up on this need and let the volume levels be adjustable, just as many things are now adjustable in the Lexus Personalized Settings, rather than give customers a take-or-leave-it approach.

You don't click the lever to it's next position when signaling. You gently tap & hold it for however long you want in between while switching lanes. I do this all the time as well.
