Has anyone installed or looked into putting HD Radio into their cars? I have searched the forums and all it get back is sirius and xm.

Really looking for HD not satellite.

Well, that would be impossible in the GS, unless you wanted to get an external receiver. As far as I know, there is no factory or dealer-installed HD radio option on the GS.

Why would anyone want HD commercials? Why not get Sat without commercials? Just my 2cents.

HD is free. Satellite radio is not. HD offers much better sound quality than XM or Sirius. While I personally prefer having XM, I can see why someone would prefer HD radio.

I have the HD Dice installed in my 07 450h. It works with the car stereo and effectively doubles the amount of stations I can listen to. While I'm in the hills, the HD reverts back to regular FM, but in the city or anywhere else but the hills, the HD works just fine and the sound quality is awesome. The HD dice also gives you an ipod interface which works with your existing stereo controls.

The HD Unit Integrates through the factory stereo (plug n play) and you can control the songs, volume, through all of the controls in the car, including the steering wheel. What's nice about the system is that it also provides an ipod which is controlled the same way. From my understanding, it's a simple plug n play module, but I didn't install it. I had Al & Eds install it for $420 otd (installed). The HD provides you with an extra commercial free channel for virtually all major stations (some stations give you two or three extra channels). Hope that helps.

Sorry, yes, it does charge the IPOD.

Also a few noteworth points. I have both the 1st gen Nano and the newest Nano. The 1st gen is fully operational whereas I cannot use the newest version to change songs, playlists, etc. On the newest version, you can only make changes through the car controls which are a pain.

I had the HD Dice with Ipod Connection installed and it works great. The sound of HD Radio is as good as CD. I even get a station in Oregon that is Comedy all day long.

I bought through Costco and it came with an Install Card that when activated recommended serveral installers in my area.

The Ipod connection does charge my Ipod.
