Question about License Plates
mine took a month. speaking of license plate.......i wud get a ticket if i only put the license plate on the trunk right? or is there a loop hole where instead of bolting it down on the front bumper i can stick it on my dashboard?
If they only issue you one you dont have to put it on the front. Read the outside of the paper envelope when the plates come. Anyhow, so what needs to happen to only get issued one plate?
Anyhow, my plate took 2 months. Custom plates also took about 2 months as well.

My custom plates took 5 weeks.
As long as you have the front plate displayed somewhere it's fine. You can even zip-tie it to the bumper if you want to. People get away with putting them on the dash here but not sure about cali.

illegal to drive without a front plate in the front in CA and illegal in the dash, it has to be suspended a certain distance from the ground. they WILL issue 2 plates. I can't find the link to state this online, but believe me, I've done my homework on this.
but honestly, who cares, 5 of our family cars don't have any plates in the front for years already.
Hardly any cops will pull you over for no front plates unless they add it to your ticket when they pull you over for something else.
I did get a ticket for no front plate before and it was a 10 dollar fix it ticket, well worth the clean look up front.

Division 3, Chapter 1, Article 9

BUT I agree with Whlkev. I have had 1 ticket for no front plate in the last 10 years. I zip tied it to my lower grille (Dodge Durango) and got the ticket signed off. Cost right around 10 or 12 bucks.
depends on your area. the first day my wife drove our gs400 with no front plate, pulled over ONLY for that. not tint, not anything else, front plate. the cop was very nice and said they are (were) doing that coz' of the redlight cameras.
oh well
