Default Ticketed for no front license plate!

For all my peeps in Carrollton, TX, if you do not have a front license plate, you will be ticketed. I just got one this morning and now I am going to have to drill my front bumper and put one on. Once I put one on, I will need to drive it up to the court and pay a compliance fee of $10.00 to get it dismissed otherwise it will cost me $157.00 Good Lucky to all!

I have had my CL550 for over 5 years and never got a ticket for no front tag until this years. I receive two in the past 3 months. I paid the first one but I plan to go to court for the second. The officer never even look at the front of my car or my dash. He simply just gave me a ticket.

Law was changed back in September of 2013 to allow for a fine.

I'd say roughly half of our customers choose to go without a front plate and risk the fine.

California is a stickler for the front plate and it's getting enforced more strictly around the state. It's about revenue. They want that front plate on not for ID, but for something easy to bounce Radar/Lidar off of. period.

If it really was for ID purposes, they'd mandate front plate lighting at night.

It's all about revenue generation.

I saw a front license holder that mounts to under the car, I'll post a link when I get home.

You can also get a mount that screws into the towing access...whatever you call it. Anyway, remove the towing access cover on the front bumper. It would keep you from drilling! I've seen this done on many different types of models.

So if your car is dropped, won't it scrape in front when you go into a dip or driveway?

http://www.topflightrepro.com/corvet...brackets.shtml

I've installed these on my last few vette's and as long as you clean the underside of all wax, this will stick! I always got the type that you can take on and off using the wing nuts so when I was at car shows I never had the plates on, but of course I "accidentally" would forget to put the plate back on most of the time. Only once did I get pulled over and I just told the officer I was at a show that weekend and just took it off for it, and had a special holder just for it so he wanted to see it and had me put it on for him and let me off with a warning. Took it off the next weekend at the next show and never had another problem, but its always in the back. Anyway, even though it says its for Corvettes, I am just about positive it will fit these cars as the frame comes in flat and needs to be bent slightly to conform to the angle of the front facia. Once I get my Fsport in a few more weeks I will probably get one of these then I can tell everyone for sure if it does work.
