Phone advice
If you have a 2007 GS350 and have cell phone that works great with the bluetooth (decent audio and doesn't drop the connection when the car is turned off), please let me know. We just got our car today, and while the bluetooth works with our Motorola RAZRs, it did drop the connection between the phone and the car when the car was turned off. We will be getting new phones soon anyway (upgrade eligible soon), so we may as well get something that works well with my new car!
Is it possible we did something wrong in setting it up in the first place -- as I said, it was working, then not working.

I have the iPhone and works great with the BT system. Calls get dropped once the car is turned off but the iPhone has the Audio option to have the conversation transfered back to the phone. Just my $0.02.
I have a Motorola SLVR as well as a BB 8800. I have never had a dropped call (Cingular/AT&T) and as above, when the car is turned off, the call transfers back to the phone (takes about 2-4 seconds).
Guys, my problem wasn't that a call got dropped, it was that the phone seemed to drop the bluetooth connection so when they got back in the car after dinner, the bluetooth no longer worked. Is that a phone issue as opposed to a bluetooth issue?
I have a Sony Ericsson w810i and have not had any issues with Bluetooth compatability. Phone book transfers in a single shot and connectivity has never dropped. Only comment I have is that the microphone in the car is quite sensitive and picks up background noise very well. My yokohama advans produce quite a bit of noise on the freeway and it makes it impossible to have a conversation via the bluetooth because of it.

Bluetooth issue.
Not home at the moment but I'll check what I did and post it later. You'll need to make your phone the default or the Bluetooth will not recognize it when you get into the car.
I have the Razor as well.

That is what happened yesterday, but I just checked and the phone's bluetooth connection appears to remain "on" this morning despite the fact that the car is off. (In other words, I reset the phone's bluetooth connection to "on" this morning, got in the car (but not with that phone), switched phones to another and used it, turned off car, then checked to see if the bluetooth connection on the phone was still on and it is. So maybe they just did something wrong yesterday. I'll let you know.
I talk on my phone pretty much everytime I drive. The phone still "connects" after the car's shut off; however, after a minute or so it would say bluetooth signal weak, disconnect and switch to handset? (if you're still on the phone)
Hi,
I have a Samsung Blackjack and an ES350. If I am talking to someone on the phone and start the car, the bluetooth will not connect to the car. I have to go through the registration screens. Sometimes the next day it will work OK and sometimes it will not. I usually see a change in some setting on the phone. I change the setting on the phone and restart the car after about a minute (with the bluetooth in auto-connect mode) and they usually pair up. Now I am careful to terminate all calls before starting the car.
This may or may not be the case with the GS.

With my Motorola RAZR Maxx Ve, it takes about 10 seconds once the car's started for the phone call to be switched over to the car automatically. Never had a problem with it not connecting automatically.
For the record, since I asked the initial question, my two Razrs (v.3) on AT&T have been working fine -- both connecting easily when selected, and not dropping the Bluetooth connection.
My Razr disables bluetooth after I turn off the car. I need to manually turn it on everytime I get back in order to get it to connect. You can get around it by having bluetooth on all the time on the phone, but I don't to save battery.
