Vais Ipod and XM
I have an 06 gs 300 without xm and i was wondering does vais make a system that has xm along with the ipod connection as well. If they don't does anybody know if they are going to be making one?
I believe you would have to buy a aftermarket xm kit to hook up to their unit. The kit they have will hook a audio unit as well as xm but you dont get the ipod controls. Email them and see if they will be making one.

I have the OEM XM kit in my wife's '07 GS350 and it works great. Bought from Sewell using Club Lexus discount code for $269 + ship. Installation is a breeze (takes about 1-1.5 hours) and everything is done in the trunk. If you want XM, this is the way to go - IMNSHO. If you have the sharkfin, there is an antenna connector in the trunk to hook into. If not, you'll just have to put one on the rear deck - either inside or out depending on your pref.
In my '04 GX, I have the Vaistech SLX (XM radio kit). You need to also buy the Terk XMD unit (about $40) to make this work. It has an aux hook up that you could plug an ipod or other source into, but you will still have to do all functions/controls (play/change/stop/etc.) on device (i.e ipod) itself. All connections are done at the head unit which in the GS could get very tight and cumbersome - especially w/ nav and trying to hide the extra XM box.
Vaistech does make an SLI which is an iPod controller much like their X (XM) and S (Sirius) units control the radio but I don't think they will ever come out w/ something that does both. Sorry
Might be worth posting/reviewing their forum as I think I've seen the question you are asking asked before. Unfortunately, I think their latest response was it's been put on hold indefinitely.

Probably not what you wanted to hear but hope it helps.

i wondered the same thing..i called and asked if they were coming out with a unit that is ipod/xm per a rumor i saw....they said no.
so, i just ordered the OEM xm from sewell and just installed it...i am thinking about installing the vais tech ipod model next so both will work through controls and steering wheel.
if you want both this seems to be the best way to go

There is a kit being worked on as we speak that will be a "plug and play" to do the nav and bluetooth bypass while driving, preventing the need to make hybrid disks or cut any wires but it is not available for the 07 as yet (it is avialable for 06), I will keep the forum updated when I get it.
