FYI....I was just reading a TSB on this and it is not just taking out the old and installing a new one. Several steps ensuring that it was installed properly.

What TSB? Is this something that we get changed for free under TSB?!? I will have my 15k service in 4k miles, and airfilter is part of the service. If I have to pay for it, I would rather do it myself. Where is it located in the car?

BTW, for my 10k service they wanted to rotate my tires for $50 as part of the service. Gee, any tire place charges $20 for it...

It is not a WARRANTY item....NOT FREE!

Right off the TSB.......

NOTE:
Improper installation of the air conditioning filter may cause damage to the HVAC
blower unit.

I have seen a CL link about how to change the cabin air filter. Once I found it, I will post it.

Turns out, there's a simple How-to video

Remember to Put your AC on Re-Circulate before you perform the steps in this video. And Never Force Anything!

Default Cabin Filter

I use the Fram Fresh ones in my RX. You can buy them on Amazon. Buy a couple and the shipping is free.

DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It contains one deadly mistake. At the beginning, after he removes the glove box shelf he says "Swing that back door up". If you do that with your fingers, you'll break the little plastic piece that opens and closes it when you push the "Recirculate" button. It will cost you well over $1000 to fix it.

Just make sure you have the RECIRCULATE button selected before starting. In case there is any confusion it's the one on the LEFT below.

As long as you do that first (I always keep mine on recirculate anyways), this is about a 1 minute job that you really can't screw up.
