Default How does VAIS Tech compare to this?

Seems to me this is how an aux/mp3/iPod input should be done by a manufacturer. Mystery why Lexus can't do this with the GS.

The G37 seems very, very impressive overall; I have a test drive scheduled later this week.

That's not going to convince me to buy a G37 over a GS.

What about the GUI? Does it looks as good/better/worse or even look like a VAIS Tech product? Doesn't seem to be so from the very few pictures on their site, but I suppose this could be a customized OEM or updated interface.

Yeah, two very different cars, in more ways than one. I simply want to know why Lexus can't do this; it's baffling. I'm seriously considering this car as I prefer coupes and have zero reason for sedans really, but the brand is a concern, largely because I've never owned a Nissan product before. Nice company that makes solid, decent cars so I hear, but something about those cars bothers me, and aside from the cheesy analog clocks, I haven't placed my finger on it yet. I'll be test driving it tomorrow, and it's on my short list along with the '08 GS, '08 335i coupe and '08 A5/S5. With all the options I want, the pre-haggle configuration comes around $43k - same ballpark as the GS and the 335i.

It doesn't look like the VAIS Tech product at all.

The VAIS Tech product simply mimics a CD changer so it's the normal Lexus OEM menu.

43k IMHO is quite a bit cheaper than the GS and 335i.

I'm sure that it's not the fact that Lexus "can't" do it, but they simply don't want to. They're betting that their mid-sized luxury/sport sedan potential buyers to still use tapes and not fancy iPods whereas the G35/37 clearly targets a group of people at a younger age.

I cross-shopped the M35/45 and not the G35/37; however, I would look at the G35/37 if I were considering the 2IS.

If I were in your shoes, I'd strongly consider the E92 or the A5 and not the 3GS.
