Hey, I just noticed that my GS came with Dunlop run flats. Are these considered noisy/good? For some reason I thought I had the Yokohamas this whole time
I had DUnlop 5000's on my 450h when I purchased it.
I ended up driving about 3000 miles before I couldn't stand the road noise and replaced them with PS2's.
Yeah the only GS I've ever been in is mine, so Im not sure if they are noisy or not. Seems fine to me
I must admit that they're not as noisy as I expected them to be (I had pretty low expectations given the reviews I had read), but after switching to regular tires, yes, I consider the runflats noisy, and the ride is harsh. When we put them back on for the winter, I'm sure the difference will be very noticeable
All AWD cars come with the 17" wheels, and I believe they only come with the Dunlop runflats at this point, unfortunately.
They are fine on smooth roads, otherwise they are noisy and stiff. Since I mostly drive on good pavement, they are ok to me.
I'll replace them with regular tires when they are worn.
I have to disagree with other comments on these tires. My GS450h came with these Dunlops, and I thought they were the quietest tires I've ever had on any vehicle. Of course, I've only had them on the car for one week before I dumped them for regular tires .
The reason I dumped them, however, had nothing to do with noise, and was entirely due to the fact that they made the ride unbearably, bone-jarring harsh. I got Continental ContiExtremeContact instead, and couldn't be happier with the ride quality. But Contis are definitely quite a bit louder than the new Dunlop run-flats.
