If you want to up the performance I would recommend HID. Since it sits so low and fog kinda aim down, it doesn't glare as much.

I didn't remove the bolts from the fender (just the clips) and it wasn't difficult at all.

Either of these are as good as they'll get, just choose your color.

Will these works for FOG lights?
http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-9006S...3429532&sr=8-1
Sylvania 9006SU BP SilverStar Ultra High Performance Halogen Headlight
Since LED doesn't give much lumen, I am looking for non-HID replacement. Don't want to spend 300 bucks for HID on fogs...

Correct. No halogen performance halogen bulb will match HID perfectly. However, installing an LED in your fog lights will pretty much result in almost zero useable light output. I would consider going with an HID kit if you want to best match your low beams and maintain useable light output from your fogs.

LED Foglights
I installed these just now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250954104834
It was an easy 20 min install with the DIY...thanks!
Here are some pics for reference. The light output is slightly decreased but you get that luxury look without the ugly off-yellow OEM fogs. Also they seem to perfectly match my 6000K Garax headlights. Another benefit is that they only consume 18W so you can turn them on without hogging your battery. I noticed that the housing has a center cap to cover the tip of the bulb, this must have been designed for halogen bulbs but I think it blocks the full shine potential of the LED's. If anyone attempts to remove this please post pics and instructions.
LED's are a quick alternative for OEM's if you are not willing to install HID kits, etc...

how's it going LEX56. So how are these LED's for the fogs so far? I want to change my stock fog and little wedge bulbs in the front. I do not want to do an HID kit for the fogs as I had a bad experience with an HID kit about 5 years ago on a 2002 GS300 that was installed professionally, and I say professionally since I bought it from a place that installed them. They have since gone out of business. So, I am not sure if I should do an LED like what you did for the fogs or go with the ZXE Silverstar bulb for the fogs, either way I know it won't offer me more light. I have the ZXE's in my 2001 4Runner, and they are much whiter than a standard bulb, and are just okay for $50. I can see a hint of the blue when the lights are not on as it reflects off the housing, but when they are on at night there's no blue. I don't like being able to see the hint of blue, but it is what it is. I've read so much in this thread and others since it started 5 years and a lot has changed about upgrading using V-Leds, and superbrightleds, and other brands.
any suggestions on what I should try in my fogs that's not HID is appreciated . I plan to leave head light bulbs stock as well.
Thanks.

Hey it's going well....I'm enjoying the LED fogs so far! They are on whenever the headlights are on. You can compare the color output to one of those LED flashlights which you can pick up at any convenience store. Not sure how they will match with stock 4300K's but they match 6000K Garax bulbs really well. They look really bright from a distance and up close but the actual lumen output is minimized, nowhere near what an HID kit will provide. The stock fogs provided more lumen output but looked horrible. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for...I didn't really need to light up the road with the fogs, I was just looking for a clean headlight match. I'm also planning to get some yellow halogens (9006 55W 3000K). They are so cheap you can pick up a few and quickly swap them whenever you get bored:

I did the LED fogs with the help of this DYI, thank you. LED color was nice but a couple pieces off of the LED started to flicker. I had since replaced it with the HID kit and the color and output is much better. Been running it for a couple months now. highly recommend an HID kit since prices had dropped significantly.

Bulb options?
Sorry if this question has been answered, but I haven't found the info on the forum yet. So if it's a waste of your time, please disregard. What bulbs are people using on the 3GS for yellow fog lights? I had the PIAA ion yellows in mind, but haven't found any for sale that are listed for an '09. Am I just not looking enough, or is there a simple option? Thanks.
