DIY - GS fog light replacement
4 Attachment(s)
After searching for a good DIY on how to replace the GS's fog lights with a different bulb and not finding one, Mitchell (midnightgs) and I decided to make one with his car. There are many different ways to attempt this, but this seemed easiest to us.
Mods, if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move. Tools required: 9006/HB4 bulbs (not pictured), Flat head, 10mm, and a good pair of hands :) Attachment 440778 1) Turn on your car and turn you wheels toward the opposite direction of the side you want to start on. 2) Turn the following two clips 45 degrees clockwise and with you nails, gently pry the clips out. They do require excessive force but be careful not to break the clips Attachment 440779 Attachment 440780 Attachment 440781 The clips removed should look like this. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...t/DSC00981.jpg |

3) Next, remove these two bolts with the 10mm socket
Attachment 440774 4) Right underneath the car infront of the wheels you will see 3 bolts, remove the one that is more towards the outside of the vehicle. Attachment 440775 5) With quite an amount of force, push the fender liner toward the inside of the car. Attachment 440776 After pushing the fender liner out, it should look like this (arrows pointing toward the removed clips) Attachment 440777 |

6) With the fender pushed aside, you should be able to see the fog light bulb
Attachment 440771 7) Gently turn the fog light bulb and pull it out. Once out, push the red tab circled in the following photo down and this will allow you to remove the OEM bulb easily. If it requires a lot of force, then you did not push it down far enough. Then simply plug the new aftermarket bulb in Attachment 440772 new bulb OEM Attachment 440773 |

8) Now button everything back up and enjoy!
Heres some aftermarket vs OEM color photos Attachment 440768 Attachment 440769 Attachment 440770 Any questions, feel free to PM me or Midnightgs |

Nightime shots will be posted in a few once the sun goes down. Again, if you guys have any questions, feel free to let me know. |
you can do it without removing the bolts, just bend the fender liner after removing the clips. nice write-up though.

if you went to all the trouble of replacing your fog lights, why didn't you also just convert and add the HID kit for them as well.
That will make the real difference. |
what is this hid kit you speak of?

That will make the real difference. HID kit = 300+ The factory lighting is sufficient. Theres no need for HID fogs besides looks. Personally, i would have went with HID fogs myself, but it's his car and he just wanted the fog color to match that of the low beam. |
