Default Does the VAIS SLi unit press I agree for you

You have to program it to do that. Check the SLI manual near the back.

Not sure if you performed the procedure or not. It is on Page 9:

>>Activate / Deactivate “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function

1) Put your device in Simple Mode by rapidly pressing the [SCAN] button 8 times (MUST BE DONE within 1-2 seconds).

2) Push DISC REPEAT button to hear a long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function ON and OFF. (For
vehicles not equipped with DISC REPEAT as a physical button, push and hold the REPEAT button until you hear a
long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function ON and OFF. <<

It works in my 2006, FWIW.

Drex.--sorry for all the questions but:

Do you need to have the IPOD plugged in when you do this because I did it without the IPOD and it does not work.

I have the SLI IPOD which was installed in July or so of last year.

I am also assuming you need to be on the SLI IPOD screen and are hitting the scan button that is visible on the screen as well...when I do it, the 7th time I press it, it beeps which seemed odd

The unit shows it is in simple mode but when I hit the dsc repeat button on the screen I never get the long beep.. I have an 06 gs 430.

Thanks again.

I also found it takes 7 taps instead of 8, so that seems normal. I did mine with the iPod connected, so not sure whether that matters or not. Can you connect one temporarily just to eliminate that variable?

Called VaisTech and here is the deal:

The software for the I Agree button came out in November of 06.
I bought my Vais in the summer of 06

soooooo

I have ordered the update ($ 50.00) and will have to reinstall the Vais Software to the newest version.

Then it should work.

Beachfront, I sent my unit to VAIS for the upgrade, just the box and they had it back to me in 2 days, free of charge. This is fine if the unit is not too hard to access.

Since I did not install it myself, I would have no clue on how to pull the unit out, nor do I know where it is installed at in the car...

Im not sure I even want to go there...!

Yes...or you can pay to get the adapter and download the software from a laptop through the ipod cord yourself...

How easy is it to get to the box if it is below your radio where my installer said it is at?

IM in Newport Beach and/or Orange...

I would even pay you as it would be worth knowing so I could do future upgrades myself.
