Default Climate Control below 77 degrees

hello, some help please, I use settings were fresh air goes into the car from outside at 77 degrees, however, I noticed that if I set temperature below 77 degrees and then shut off the car, the settings changed to recycle mode, were air is no longer flows from outside? It is getting hot in New York and if I set to Lo or 65 degrees, it's defaults to recycle mode all the time??? How can I have it set at Lo or 65 and not to default to recycle mode? 07 350 AWD...

Probably not. A/C units in general are designed to cool something a certain amount. Like 20 degrees. Ever put your home unit on 60 when its 90 outside and it never reaches it?

It is easier to make cool air cold than it is to make hot air cold.

PS - It is 90 degrees here right now. lol.

thanks, however, I am not using AC mode, only want to get air from outside at 65 degrees to flow in, my old 99 Maxima had that with no problems.

I don't know about 350, but on the 450 you can set it to either Automatic (two green lights on), or Fresh (right green light on) or Recirculate (left green light on). If you set it to one of the last two modes, the car will not change the mode for you.

yes, that is what I have set: Fresh (right green light on) and at 77 degrees, however, if set any lower then 77 it changes to Recirculate (left green light on) right way and stay there all the time. AC mode is off.

ellite100,

If you go into the Climate screen and MANUALLY adjust the fan speed and choose "Air Flow from outside" the System will stay just that way bringing air from outside. If you use the temp control and auto function ........... it is the job of the system to most effeciently cool the vehicle to the marked temperature. And as we know it's simpler to cool, cool air then it is to cool, heated air. So the system will opt to recirculate the existing cool air. Besides ............... haven't you seen the commercial that if you want fresh air ( in a Lexus) then roll up the window and run your climate control system.

Have fun ............

You need to first take it off the auto mode, and simply use fan control - turn it on to lowest setting and adjust temp to what you like, then turn off the fan at that time. Temp settings can not be adjusted if fan is off. Also remember that the auto recirc function is one of those lexus programmable pesonalized settings, mine used to drive me nuts always putting on freh mode when I did not want it. Give the first suggestion a try.

thanks, yes, that is what I do, I turn the fan on, then change the degrees below 77 and then turn it off, set Air Flow from outside, so the air only flows when the car is moving, but it goes to Recirculate (left green light on), I don't use Auto mode in any settings...

My case was the same as yours. Annoyingly activating recirculate just by dropping the temperature setting. Just this week I finally had the dealer change the Personal Setting to defeat automatic switching to recirculate. I cannot yet say that it will not creep back into my life, but so far, so good.
