06 GS300 ACCIDENT....Repairable??
Well i just got into an accident last week. The other guy was making a left and hit the drivers side of my car causing me to fishtail, go up on to the curb and slide about 200 feet..
basically this is the damage that i could actually takes pics of.
along with all this damage, both side air bags deployed and i'm pretty sure the rear axle is pretty damaged, but not sure yet.
my question to you guys is, do you think it will be totalled or will they try to repair it?
if it gets repaired i know it wont drive the same and that is what i am worried about!
THX

Sorry to hear about the accident. That looks bad but I don't think they will total it. As long as you weren't injured, that's what matters the most. I hope they can fix it for you.

OUCH....thats disturbing to look at but don't worry it will be repaired and it can be... don't worry about it not driving the same because if it's done by a skilled tech, it will drive beautifully. There is no real "rear axle" on the GS, it has a fully independent suspension the mounting points of which are clearly measured out in the collision repair manual. This is all stuff the show will take care of...all you need to do is make sure they fully 4-wheel align the car and that the car does align to within specs...ask for the computer printout of the alignment showing all four wheels falling within factory specs and tolerances.
Post pics post repair! Nice ride!

Another ouch! What's going on here...
I am glad you are okay. From the look of it, I don't think ins will total the car either.
The taillights look like either sprayed with tint or filmed. Probably sprayed.

thx guys for all the comments...
the reason i was thinking they would total it is because the repairs might cost too much versus just paying me out...not sure but my insurance adjuster and the other insurance adjuster will be looking at it tomorrow so i'll know then....
thx again!

I am always surprised what bodyshops can do these days. I have no doubt that cosmetically, they can repair it and make it look brand new. We don't know what's damanged internally....suspension..etc. It probably will not drive the same after it's repaired. But, Blue, you can always trade it in for a newer model. I know I can use this excuse with my wife for letting me get a new car. (2thfixer, I think I just found a solution for you.......j/k)
