It will be interesting to see how much the repair bill is. I am guessing around $6 Grand.

Glad you are o.k., even if your 4 month old seems o.k., I would get him checked out just to be careful.

Sorrry about the car, that sucks to say the least.

6 grand??? wow - sounds like a high estimate.

i feel like we're on the price is right - I'm gonna go with new bumper covers front and rear, maybe check the foam inserts behind the bumpers and swap out the front grill. all in all - maybe 2k.

I would have to say both front and rear bumper covers can be reconditioned. As far as internal damage to the absorber and reinforcement, that has yet to be seen. The grille is a couple hundred dollars. I will check my database at work on pricing.

Sorry about the accident, but glad that your family is ok. Don't worry, take the GS to a good body shop and it'll look good as new.

Same thing happened to my 3 series Bimmer last month, except I did not hit the car in front. My rear bumper looked like the front of this car. They took the bumper cover off, sand it and spray-paint it. Looks like new.

The whole total came to about $600. Guy that hit me was busy talking on his cell phone!

It makes me nervous how easily these cars can get damaged and more so that everyone always writes how underneath there is probably more damage, is the GS more easily damaged than other makes/models in this class? I've read several threads where GS's have been hit on the side or rear side and folks here have said check for frame damage, so I was just wondering.

Sorry to see this happen.

The good news is that you walked away ok and you'll be able to get your ride fixed. The bad news is that the value of your Lex just got diminished by the mere fact that it was in an accident.... (CAR FAX).... Don't settle for just getting it repaired, ask the at fault for additional funds to compensate you for diminished value. It's real damage to your pocket book. Do a little internet research and prepare yourself to ask for the damage.

Good luck.
