yesterday i was trying to get a 30k check up
i got a fuel injection
air filter
went to get a transmission flush but the employees at the lube center i went to said they werent able to find the transmission dipstick
they said they could see the drain plug but no insert.
could someone help me on this please??
the problem is that i lost my owners manuel and cant seem to find it

 

With only 30K I would think you would have the dealer do the work.
Would the quicky lube really know a Lexus better then the dealer?

 

There is no dipstick. The tranny fluid is rated at 100k so there is no need to ever change it unless you go past 100k. Also if you do go to get it changed make sure you have lexus do it. They actually put back some how from the drain plug. Your very lucky they didn't drain it first then you would have had a problem. Also only use toyota tranny fluid. They got rid of the dipstick because it will last a longer then before and they feel that 100k is the lifetime of the car. I think under the hood there is a sticker that states that. Remember you drive a real nice car I would take it always to a lexus dealer.

 

I think the new GS uses the WS fluid.. Not the same as the Type IV. I'd be very cautious as to where I would take the car. If you're able to afford a new GS, you shouldn' have to try to save a few bucks by going to a a lube center. They dont even carry the right fluids for your car.

anyways i know most cars get a 30k check up so just had the guys do it
if the orileys or autozone doesnt carry it i usually order parts from the lexus dealer at a whole sale price and also tax free due to the fact that i own a lube center
but you guys are right maybe i should just have it serviced at a lexus dealership

I am wondering if the tranny fluid ever needs changing...

From the owner's manual:

Transmission
Inspect each transmission component
for signs of leakage. If you discover
any leakage, have it repaired immediately
by a qualified technician.
Note: The transmission and transmission
fluid are a completely sealed unit.
Therefore, periodic checks and
replacement of the transmission fluid
are not required, and there is no dipstick
on the transmission. Any repairs
that require adding or replacing fluid
should be performed by a qualified
technician following procedures in
Lexus service and repair publications.

Also, is there a DIY on how to do this on a 07 GS350?

 

I smell fish, like sales pitch!!!

 

changing trans fluid is quite a job in these new sealed transmissions that lexus has. Its not just adding the fluid in, but you have to let the fluid heat up to a certain temp to know if you have the right amount in the trans or not.
