Default tire buyback

I got my GM to buy back my Dunlop 5000's with 7000 miles for 150/piece. Which I think was more than resonable..... He ordered my PS2's which will be in tomorrow or Friday, and they will install them at that time. What is a resonable charge to install the tires??? I'm trying to ge tthem to install for free, but was just curious. My Dunlop 5000's were getting annoyingly loud. We'll see how I like these......
It was a toss up between the Bridgestone Pole Positions and the PS2's....
It's like splitting hairs between stats on those two, but I opted for the more expensive ones.... for my first swap out... Maybe Bridge's next time... Unless I just love the PS2's on thjis car... We'll see.

Hi Jason,

When I went out to the east coast. My dealer would not budge on the tires. So I went to a tire dealer down the street and ordered Michelin MXV4 S8s from Tire Rack for $650.

I asked the dealer to install them for me. They would not do it for less than $200! - I had the Tire Dealer do it for about $75. I drove home with the Brand new Dunlops in the trunk and back seat. I sold them to a forum member for $400.

So you got a heck of deal at $150 a piece.

GM's have a tire budget that they can work with to handle these situations... my friend got a new GS after seeing mine, and he let the dealer keep the Yok's on, despite my strong urgings (he liked the squared off look to the tires). Needless to say, he got them switched out at 5,100 miles for Mich. Pilot Sports.... no cost either.... that's customer relations....

PS2 is a whole lot better than the Bridgestone Pole Positions (noisy, firm ride, tramline problem) Had them before I switch PS2.

I have PS2s on my 997S and have to say they are great tires compared to the S02s or the Pzero Rossos. The PS2s are worth every penny! $500/tire for the rears on my 997.

I like the looks of the Yokohamas, but not crazy about the tire. Can anyone post a picture of the PS2's on 18" rims to see what those look like?

i will in 1 week, that's the next opportunity I have to goto the dealer and have them install. They said I needed new seals for the Tire Pressure monitors... about $9/piece. We will see. I will post pics after.

Default replacements..

Well.. My '06 GS300 is apparently in need of replacements after 2 years and ~15k miles. I had some leaks in the two rears (nails) and took them to a local shop I've used for years and the guy wouldn't touch'em since they were at the wear rating (horizontal band across width of tire).. These are the Dunlop 225/50R17 94W's that came with the car.. He would give me replacement Remington's (not a bad looking tire, but not sure how it compares to others mentioned here).. I later went down to Costco and checked what they had to offer and they quoted me some prices for the Michelin PS2's and Primacy's (sp?) for about $20/tire more.. They also had some form of BF Goodrich for about 1/2 the cost of the PS2s.. Any comments? I'll probably need a set of 4 and don't want to fork out $1k for tires every two years (call me cheap!)
