Hey all.

So here's a question for you all.

Why do you think I am able to input destinations and have the NAV accept them and guide properly and scroll smoothly, but when I try and register "home" it says go to and register under "my places" but then I do and it won't take it, or register......

Puzzled.

I had to play with it the other night. I had to bring the book out to figure it out. Sorry, can't help you much here.

 

I've done everything the book has said....
I did to the NAV/DVD/Bluetooth hack so maybe something is odd there...

But I can input destinations and everythign works perfectly, I just can't register my home.

I guess I know where I live so if this can't correct itself, it's the least of my concerns, just wondering though why I can do inputs, but not register home......

 

IIRC you first have to save the destination in My Places. Then you can edit My Places assign it to Home. I forget exactly the sequence.

 

WOW. I have a Garmin and all I have to do is sit in my driveway, select HOME, Select set as new destination... DONE!

 

Let me explain.
First I say "Register Home" into the voice prompt. Then it takes me to a set home page. I then press the little home icon, and it says I need to goto my places and register home, b/c it's not yet registered.
So then I goto My places, under the menu, press my places, then try and set home. No luck, it say's home is not registered goto myplaces and register home. The never ending circle......
I do what it says then it says it again telling me to do it again... .blah blah ... same thing over and over, never ending circle.

Any ideas?

I didn't have any problems doing mine and I have the hack as well. It even works with the "go home" command.

Ok, nvm, "the hack" is the DVD override hack. Do a search for "DVD HACK" and you will find posts about it.
