Default 30 minute oil change?

Do you need an appt for an oil change @ a Lexus dealership? I read something in the ES forum about a 30 minute oil change even if you don't have an appointment?

It is best to make a appt and tell them you will be waiting for the car. I did this and sent my son. From start to finish it was about an hour, and he did take advantage of the lounge and free beverages.

I called the dealership to setup a date. They came by the office to pick up the car first thing in the morning and dropped off a loaner. The brought the car back to the office before lunch. I did not even miss it, and didn't even have to use the loaner.

Just curious what they charged for that oil change. I did mine myself this weekend. Suctioned out the oil through the dipstick port and changed the cartridge. Took about 20 minutes once I got started. No mess and I know it was done right. Total cost, about $18.

I don't recall exactly but I think it was $50-60? I am going in a week or two so I guess I will find out.

I had my oil changed at 2500 miles yesterday. I called the dealer about 30 minutes before arrival and they took me in with no problem; even late in the day on Saturday. If your dealer is anything like mine, they'll work you in with no problem.

I guess in hawaii its different. You HAVE to make an appointment. I tried to go in, and they said, it'll be at LEAST a few hours. On any given day, there's about 20-30 cars in for service.
There's two levels. One, they change oil/filter. It runs around $40. The other they do a bit more things, but they charge and arm and a leg. I forgot what that was.

Im going to have first oil change for my GS350 soon. Is it worth to use Mobile One or just use dealer's oil? Thanks in advance.

$43 plus tax. And, pick up and loaner car, it's a steal!

you're having them put the mobile 1 in or what are you using?
I only use the mobile 1. I'll buy it then bring it to them if they don't have in stock..

Choc,

Did you find a write up on how to change the oil for the GS350? or did you just kinda wing it? I assume it must be very similar to the IS 350s...
