Default Anyone with Bridgestone Turanza LSVs?

Ok, other tire question. My quest for tires led to a call to Tire Rack which strongly recommends the Bridgestone Turanza for my GS300. My new tires are to be quiet and a little soft for comfort. Handling is secondary.

What do you think of the LSV?

Thanks.

Aren't they like the top-rated Touring tire from Tire Rack's selection? That should answer your question.

Turanzas were great on my 330 BMW. That is until 10k miles. Threw them out at 15k because of excessive noise and they were bald.

Not sure if they are improved now or not. I had the Z rated. It looks like the V rated are better overall.

The Turanza LS-Vs are excellent. The Turanza LS-Zs are even better. If your car came with Z rated tires, I would say spend a little more and get the Zs. If your car came with Vs, get the Vs. There are many, many different models of Turanzas, so when people tell you about theirs, make sure they're referring to the LS line and not the ELs (the latter of which I've heard some not so great things about).

Were those the Turanza LS-Zs or a different model Turanza? I didn't think that Turanza LS's were OEM on BMWs.

I think they must have been the EL or whatever they were called back in 02/03.

It looks like they have improved considerably.

Yeah, the EL is a completely different animal. I believe an EL series tire is OEM on the Acura TL, and those guys hate it. The LS series is categorized as a grand touring all season tire. You lose a bit in the performance department, but you more than make up for it (in my opinion) in comfort and quietness.

I have Turanza LS-V's and they are very quiet and smooth. Great tire.
Good grip for the average driver too.

Let us know how they work out for you. I'm considering the LS-Vs for my winter 16s.

The Turanza LS-Vs were installed and I really like them. They are much smoother and quieter (low and high speed) than the Dunlop run flats. They offer a softer ride, but it's not a mushy cushy soft ride. The tires absorb the everyday road roughness, not not overly so. In other words, the tires softened the ride quality but not to the extent of the soft ride quality in a ES, LS or even our RX330. But, the car still drives like a GS with road feel and good sporty handling, which I like. The tire live up to it's reputation as a premium touring tire.

I find myself going faster during normal driving than I did with the Dunlops. I don't know if it's because of the lessened road noise or smoother ride, or both.

I haven't tested the tires in rain or snow, and I haven't done too much in the way of handling tests either. But for now I'm a very happy camper with these tires. I'll follow-up with more info once I gain more experience with the tires.
