Regional Differences!!!

Hi everyone, Notice the difference in options between regions. I am located in Saudi Arabia, where GS's do not have voice activation options Starting from 2005 (Third Generation).

How do you like the Vias Tech? Also, in regards to attaching pictures. We seem to be limited to one image attachment per message, which is why people have to post one picture in each message reply.

In Kuwait they will be bringing voice activation for the GS300/430 on the 2007 model (I am told) and they won't be bringing any Direct Injection engines for now.

Voice activition is already available here for both the ES350 and IS300.

I didn't get the Vais Tech since I wasn't sure if it would work with the ME version of the Nav unit. Where did you buy it / where did you get it installed?

Even in the U.S. there are option package differences between regions. Oregon different than California, different than Florida, etc.

Yes it true! the voice activation will be introduced in 2007. I ordered my Ipod Vias by phone, and i instaled it my self. One and a half hour job!!!!
The device is nice, but i wish you could choose songs indivisually instead of creating playlist in your itunes. and shuffling.......

gonna get me a Vias Tech...thanks.

BTW - quite a few guys in the UAE got their GS's imported from the US - especially the 300 since they have 4wd, tire pressure sensors, smog detector, a more powerful/more economical direct injection engine and of course voice activation for the Nav.

The 2007 Middle East model will be coming with the sexy new Generation 5 Nav and include the smog detector (once again already available on the ES / IS). I can't believe my car is only 1 year old and i'm already seriously thinking of upgrading it to a 430 (there are no plans to bring the 460 here

)...
