Yea I know that feeling being 20 and driving a GS430. One guy who I was talking to just asked me. Originally Posted by conclevage

What kind of car do you drive?
A Lexus.
Which model, the IS?
No, the GS.
Oh the 300?
No, the 430.
Then he gave me that look and asked me how much that cost. When I told him that it was about $60K. He asked me more questions about my work and if I still go to school and all those questions that make a person feel really awkward. Maybe i should stop driving it.

be happy with what you make/have. I'm doing ok as well in my book. I care less what others think. I work hard for what I have and I went to school with two degrees as well. I earned it. I'm worth it. Originally Posted by LxS4LiFe

I won't be getting any help from mom and dad, just the company I work for.

This Poll is not going to be an accurate reflection of what average American GS300/350/400/430 owner's age. This only show people's average age who are internet-oriented. I bet you there are a lot of old folks (say 50 plus) are not used to use computer or just have no interests in chatting their vehicles online or making any mods. No age discrimination here but a reality check. A prime example, my father-in-law has two Lexus and is probably going to buy his next one (LS460) very soon!
I think Toyota/Lexus should have a better data shows it's primary target of customers in terms of age.
BTW, I'm 35.5.

35 here.. had my first lex (97 ES300) at 26.. the RX at 30.. The ES became the daily driver once my Boxster S moved in.. after owning the ES for 120k mi and never having a problem and ongoing excellent service, another lex was a no-brainer.. Will drive the GS300 untill a GS500F arrives

30, picked up my GS350 this past Saturday. Purchased an RX330 for my wife about 1.5 years ago.
I do agree with most comments that this poll is really skewed towards the younger population that frequents forums and the internet. Most drivers will probably be 50+. I don't know many 20-25 year olds otherwise that can swing a 45-50K car normally. I was happy to have a Honda Civic back then, I would've been dreaming to have a GS.

Someone should do a more relavant poll.....
Do what type/model of GS then catagorize that answer with age of purchaser.
For instance GS450h ----- then age 28<<<<
or
GS350 ----- age 32......
see who owns what and what age the purchaser is...not just the one who drives, but age of the person that bought the car.....

You need to split this up into Gen 1,2,3. to get a better understanding of what model is associated with the age.
I think you will find that more 40-50 year olds own the Gen 3 than anu other age group,

even so, after breaking it into either Gen 1,2,3 then you need to group it into specific model within the GS. After that one needs to break it into age.Originally Posted by oliveiraej

As my post before yours states. I would be interested in seeing not how many people own a GS and what their age is, but rather how many people own a GS 350, GS 430, GS 450h and their corresponding age to that catagory.
This is the most relavant way to do this poll. I'd start it, but I don't know how to make this many catagories......
Can anyone create this?

The Lexus Marketing Dept. will have the correct data since they collect that data at the time of ourchase so they understand their market.
What I have seen is a new influx of 40-50 year olds getting into the tuner/ mod market since they want to relive so of their younger days with the machines they have today. They have their weekend toys, Lambos etc but they do want to have their everyday ride reflect their own personnality.
Companies like D2 and High Society VIP are at the right place at the right time since most of us Old guys get frustrated searching 30 sites to find many of the same items and not what you're looking for. Also it seems that many of the accressory companies are slow to release their new product data to their distributors, or the distributors are always behind posting new items on their web sites. I have had the most luck working with HSVip on getting real time data to make the right decisions on what product to buy.
Well rambleing again.
I will ahve to fix my signature block to include a picture of my 06 GS 300 AWD and list all the mods so far. This is a great site with great people sharing information that make it easier for us Old guys to mod our cars.
Thanks,
Ernie
