Default Performance Chip Install?

Has anyone installed one of those performance chip boxes that run for $20-$30? Did it work?

Did you do the install yourself? The directions say to install it to the IAT sensor and to 2 wires. The only sensor I see by the air filter has five wires. Does anyone know where the IAT or ECS sensor in the engine bay and how to install this?

Thanks!

No one has done this because it will not work. It takes more than a "resistor" to play with the Toyota ECU. Save your $ for another mod.

I think I have to go with what NEO said cause if it really worked it wouldn't just cos $20 $30 bucks like what they say you get what you pay for

Save your money.

Also to add to the reason why it won't work... even if it did do something you're not going to feel a maaajor difference on a naturally aspirated engine.

I used to be a firm believer that a ecu chip would make a difference because it wasn't about the peak power points but what's under the curve... but seriously that's just bollocks.

Unless you're dropping some major cash, your naturally aspirated engine isn't going to be making a lot of power. You want to mod? You go FI.

probably a lil off topic...but how do you remove the limiter on how fast ur car can go? Is it the ECU chip or something else?

An ECU tune can make a good difference even on an NA car, but most of these 20-30$ modules are only a resistor that changing the reading of the intake air temp sensor. This will push the stock ECU into a warm up mode advancing the timing and adding a bit more fuel.
