Default Blue Tooth Question...

So... we can't dial out while cars in motion?? Correct??
Or, is there a way to over ride that?
Sorry, I'm not very tech savy.... I couldn't find it on the manual...

Is it the older GS with the Gen IV Nav? If so then the answer is no, but you can dial off of the phone.

Not sure if the Gen V allows you to at least voice dial.

All the buttons turn grey as soon as car starts to move....
May be I'm suppose to use only the one touch dial while moving?
I'm stupid in terms of these things....
I can't even figure out how to switch to my phone when I drive my wife's car once in awhile... Looks like I need to study the manual soon...

You either use 1-touch or you dial right from the phone. THe only drawback to that is there is a lag from the time the call connects to when you hear it through the speaker.

You end up having the person saying, "Hello.... Hello", before you can hear them.

this varies by phone mfr. some phones do that, some don't. unfortunately i have the lag time as well on my nokia 6230 and samsung D807. i believe the Razr does not have this lag.

yeah sorry, you are right. in the early days i remember some people saying they did not have this problem w/ the Razr, but that might be their provider instead

who is your cell phone provider? my friend has had two motorolas w/ verizon paired w/ his car and absolutely no delays. but of course w/ verizon he hasn't been able to push contacts thru to the phonebook...

i think lexus has a long way to go on improving the BT system in general. i just picked up a new Audi and was surprised how advanced their BT is. now if only they could combine the Lexus user interface w/ the Audi BT system ...

Cingular. I agree that Lexus/Toyota needs to improve the BT system. The system in my RL is absolutely awesome.

The Gen V does allow you to voice dial while the car is moving. If you have attached recorded names to phonebook entries you can voice dial by name, and voice dial by number works as well.

Thumbs down Verizon

Verizon intentionally degrades their BT software and thus is the worse carrier for your Lexus.
