The IS350 specifications in Japan show slightly higher hp & torque than the GS350, but it translate to only 306hp & 277 lb.ft. torque for the IS350 here, probably because of slightly different methods of measurement from the new SAE standard in the U.S.
I posted the above just to illustrate that the GS350 hp & torque should be very close to that of the IS350.

The following is from lexus.jp for the IS350 in Japan :

The new GS350 is expected to be around 310-315 HP and should be coming out sometime in September. Source taken from my friend that works at longo lexus. Still deciding if I should trade/part out my gen2 GS for the 350...

1. Should be out fall 2006 as a 2007 model
2. I have also heard it will be rated slightly higher than the IS, 310hp is about right.

Once it it released in Sept, How long do you guys figure it will take for the GS350 to cool off enough for deep discounting, 6months-1year?

It might be awhile. THe GS will be the most updated car in this class and with the additonal power, I think sales will be superb, once they hold pricing.

I think either Magneto or Lexarrao posted a Lexus press release stating that GS 350 time are basically IDENTICAL to current GS 430 times.

They did not post GS 460 estimates.

Dunno, if that's true I'd be slightly disappointed, since the GS350 RWD is just 40 kg.(88 lb.) heavier than the IS350 according to lexus.jp.

The fastest 0-60 time for the GS430 from any source is 5.7 sec., while some sources got 5.1, 5.2 sec. 0-60 for the IS350. I really expect the GS350 to perform slightly better than the GS430 . . .

As for the press release you mentioned, I don't really remember exactly, but maybe it's 0-100 kmph(=0-62 mph) in about 5.7 sec. ?

GS350 may have a few more ponies, but IS350 has a big weight advantage. Lexus quotes GS350's 0-60 number about the same as GS430, at 5.8 (compared to IS350's 5.3). If GS350 gets low 5's, then GS460 would be expected to be <5s, which is unrealistic.

I don't think it's that unrealistic. If the 550i with less power and two less gears can hit it in five seconds flat, I'd think a GS 460 should be able to do at least the same. 4.8-4.9 is my estimate.
