Has anyone experience any problems with their trunk closing properly??? I know it self closes after you bring it down to a certain point, but sometimes it wont engage and close.

The auto-close feature is pretty worthless IMHO. You have to pretty much shut the trunk for the mechanism to engage.
A fully automated open/close (like on the BMW 750) would be nice.
I never had any problems with the trunk closer on my GS 300, but on my 450H there seems to be more resistance holding the deck lid up and this feature doesn't work nearly as well. The fact that it worked on the 300 makes me believe that there may be an adjustment that can help. I'll have to ask my service tech to take a look on my first oil change.

Sounds like a warranty issue to me. I'd take it in and have them compare it to other GS's to confirm that your system should be replaced. Good luck!

I don't think there's a warranty issue here, I just have to push down on the deck lid a little harder to get the closer to engage. If I had not previously had a GS, I probably wouldn't think anything about it, and I don't like to cry wolf until I'm sure there is one. I'll give the hydraulic lifts a bit of time to break in, and they may loosen themselves up; If they don't, I'll let the tech take a look.
