Default 08 LS460 trunk not opening

The trunk wont open even with the key. The trunk lock in glove compartment is not the issue either. When i press the trunk open button, it makes the beep sound but trunk stays closed. I also tried disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and that did not fix it either. Any idea what the problem is?

Your trunk latch motor might be bad. There is a plastic piece that fails. A new one cost around $300 online or a used one for a lot less if you don't plan on keeping the car long. Easy diy. For me the hardest part was really just taking the trunk liner off to get to it.

Have you tried helping the trunk open with your hand? My trunk wouldn't open once or twice after a car wash. It would beep but no motion. Turns out the rubber trunk gasket had created too good of a seal and just needed some manual assist.

Open trunk manually with the key, then close it . if you don't hear the auto latch motor then it is bad. It will affect your truck close also if you have the option. You will just hear a beep only. They go bad after 8-10 years

How do you open the trunk manually with a key? I haven't taken a close look at it, is there a place to put a key?
