Is there a mute button / function on the new GS for the audio (not referring to the navigation guidance)?

I don't believe there is a mute button you can select. Look in the manual.

Although the audio does mute when you're on a call with a bluetooth phone.

 

How about just turning it off? That's what I do when I need silence, then just power it back on, and if I was listening to DVD or CD audio, it picks back up where it was.

If a call comes in, or you place a call, and you are Bluetooth connected, it mutes the audio for you, so there's less need to mute it yourself.
