Not sure if this has ever been discussed, but I just noticed this noise the other day. When you turn the car off, the steering wheel raises to allow access out of the car. This of course makes the electric motor sound as it moves out of the way. But as soon as you open the door, there is this very different sounding electric motor sound… it lasts just a brief second.

Can’t make out what it is doing. Any ideas?

OK, thanks. Seems strange, I wonder why it happens when you open the door. As long as its normal.

 

its the wheel locking it auto dos it so u dont have to lock your wheel i asked about it at the dealer the frist time i drove the car. tyr moving the wheel u will feel that it is locked :-)
