I've just ordered a GS300. I need to get a Cingular bluetooth phone. The choices seem to be a RAZR or a Sony-Ericcson Z520A (I'd prefer the latter). Can anyone tell me if these are compatible with the Lexus phone system? Is there a place where compatibility info is posted?
If you go to lexus.letstalk.com you can see all of the phones that are compatible with your GS. Make sure that you do not put "www" before the address. The question is usually not wether they work or not, but how well they interact with your Lexus. ie: does the phonebook transfer over all at once, name by name or not at all. Most of your questions will be answered by visiting the page listed above. Good Luck!
I'm using the razr in mine without any problems. The only thing I don't like about it is that each phone book entry needs to be sent one-by-one. I think that's a problem with the software in the phone though.
I've looked at the letstalk website. It looks like a site for selling phones and service, rather than an exhaustive listing of phones. But they do have two other Sony-Ericcson phones listed, so probably the one I'm interested in (Z520A, which is free on an upgrade) will work too. If anyone knows differently, please let me know.
Moto V551 works fine. Phonebook transfer is one phone number at a time.
There is a limit on how many characters can appear in the name...it's nine... but I think that's a limitation of the BT system in the car. I created phonebook entries in my 551 specifically to transfer to the car, such as "Mike (W)", for a contact whose last name exceeds 9 characters. I usually store names as "LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME".
