Haha, either way, it saves me steps to have to disable it myself!

Actually, I just found out that mine does chime, but it's the first time I ever heard it. I guess I always subconsciously put it on.

I would normally like to try this before posting, but cannot until next week. Anyway, I tried to re-write the instructions just for the GS. Does this work better?

Turning off seat belt buzzer:

1) Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO display using the ODO/TRIP button.

2) Turn IG off. Unbuckle both front seat belts.

3) With foot off brake, press Start button twice to activate electronics. Within six seconds, press and hold the ODO/TRIP button. Wait ten seconds, and while still holding the button, buckle the driver’s seat belt.

4) The LCD displays "b-oFF". Release the button. The buzzer can be switched between "b-on" or "b-oFF" each time the ODO/TRIP button is pressed.

5) The display reverts back to normal if the button is not pressed for ten seconds, completing the process.

Repeat 2) to 5) for the passenger seat belt buzzer.

It implies that each seat can have the buzzer set independently. If the above is correct, one question--can one finish with step 4, and within 10 sec disconnect the driver's belt, then connect the passenger belt and then turn that buzzer off, thus avoiding restarting the whole process for the passenger belt? Anyone tried debuzzing both belts?

Does anyone know how to turn off the chime in a 2002 SC 430? The procedure posted only works on 2006 and later.

I wish this tweak worked for the LS 460, but alas, it does not. Gotta use an app like Carista. Why, I wonder?
