and the car had 20k on it. first set of brakes
heres what i found ot from a ds
u cannot resurface the front rotors
front left 290
front right 250
front pads 100
rear pads 100
4 hours of labor
lookin at arround 1200 for front and rear brakes
the ds told me that the brake pads are preformance and cut through the rotor pretty fast. when i got i measured the front it had 28mm. 27 is min spec. boths sides are about the same. rear had 3 mm before min after resurface. so those who have the 06 gs. im sorry!!!!
Why did you have to replace the rotors? They aren't normally a "wear item" like pads are. Were they warped? WHY is it not possible to resurface them? Are these the only rotors in the world that can't be resurfaced? If so, I think I'd only replace the pads if the rotors weren't covered under warranty. The new pads should conform to any grooves in the old rotors anyway.
Not the end of the world- a BMW 5-series will cost that much for a front brake job. And they use lousy "super-dust" brake pads! The GS430 has monster front brakes (for stock brakes, anyway), so in reality it's actually decent bang for the buck.
I am a little surprised that the brakes are shot a 20K, however.

he said that they were 1mm off from being at the MINIMUM spec for rotor thickness that's why it has to be replaced
