Default GS300 vs. GS430

I really want the 430 but it is more than I want to spend. I was going to hold off, save my money and buy the 430 later but I don't want to wait. If I got the 300 would I be satisfied or would I always wish I had the 430?

We had a first Gen GS300 and loved it. We opted for the GS430 partly because of the V8 but it also had all the cool options included like VDIM, NAV, etc. Granted it's a sticker shock but in then end we're glad we did.

Cheaping out the first time will only cost you more in the end.

Not saying the gs300 is cheapy or anything, but later on, you'll be wanting more so get something that you know you would enjoy.

i would wait if i were you. it sucks to always "wish you had gotten X" AFTER you buy a car. if it within your means, a few months won't kill you. i am sure the 300 will "satisfy" you, but if the 430 power is what you really want, it really is worth the wait.

If you can hold off long enough, say around a year or so, you will be getting the GS350 instead, & you may not feel you need the GS460 then . . .

v8 if you're getting it soon, otherwise you can get the 350 if you can wait longer.

If you are in the position financially, then get the 430. But if the purchase will burden you financially, then get what you can comfortably afford. The 300 is no slouch, and is just as luxurious as the 430.

I previously had a '99 GS300 which I loved. But the increased power of the 430 really is evident, and makes the 430 a blast to drive.

As others have echoed, it may be wise to wait a little while and see when the GS350 will arrive in the States.

After all the problems I've had with my gs430 I'd buy a BMW. Lexus has really made me mad with this car, they rushed the release of this 3GS and they know it, only one year later there will be drastic changes from what I have heard. Guess its true what they say, never buy a car the first year of its release. with the new GS .

Many who bought the BMW 645ci & 545i new last year must be pissed too, since they' ve upgraded them to 650 & 550 now, they have their share of first year problems too (probably worse) . . .

Whatever you do, do NOT test drive the GS430 first and then the GS300. You will not want to go back to a GS300 after a test drive in this order. Good things come to those that wait, even if it's a new GS350 right around the corner!
