I thought that the windows of the 3GS 430/300 could be put Up and Down from the FOB, mine only work Down by pressing and holding the "Unlock" button. I thought that by pressing and holding "Lock" that the windows would go up too? Also, I heard that the Moonroof was also controlled in this way when the windows opened all the way or closed all the way? Is this true, or not?

not 100% about 3gs, but if it's the same as 2gs

it opens up with unlock on key remote but will NOT go up when you press and hold lock. that's just by design. but if you put the key in the keyhole on the driver side (there is one right?) and turn it to lock and hold it will close everything

and yes, moonroof moves together with the windows

again this is for 2gs, but i think it might be the same for 3gs

That's correct, it is the same for the 3G's.

Thanks. Cool feature, but only half way right I guess. My Infiniti G35 Coupe is the same way. I always thought that it was a goof. Any idea why this is the case?

Just a guess, but it's probably a safety feature.

You 3GS guys should test out some of the 'hidden' or little known features (aka people like me that didn't read all the manual) of your cars.

Here's a thread in the 2GS forum with some of them listed

If you were to raise your windows with the FOB while several feet from the car, this could cause an injury to someone on the other side of the car out of your view. They could possibly have their fingers or hand in the path the window travels on it's way up. Possible law suit.

all the windows are designed with sensors. if it hits something when it's going up it will automatically stop and opens back up

with the car running, try to roll up a window using auto and stick your hand in between

Yep, just tried it, you're right. That kills my theory.

what i am thinking though, is if you use the key fob to do it, that means the car is off already. would it has something to do with the sensors or so? dunno, just a wild guess

in another words, if the car is off and you use the key to roll up all the windows, and you stick your hand in. would it open up?

Even if cars have anti-trapping feature, they can fail. So for US the feature does not exist
