Default 98GS and 06GS Side by Side

Here are some pics of my two GSs. The last photo is one that has been requested.

It has been about 10 days since I have been in my 98 GS and did it feel different after spending all my time in my 06. It is amazing how differently my 06 feels and drives. Granted I have quite a few miles on my 98 but I have had more than one person tell me that it drives like new.

The color is deceiving but the 06 does feel larger inside

Of course this is my 98. I've only got 1100 miles on my 06.

!! Did you EVER have any problems with your 98? Just think of how much fun the next 300,000 miles are going to be in your 06

All I have ever done is replace brake shoes, changed front rotors once, replaced one coolant sensor, one wheel bearing and 7 sets of tires.

Just 7 sets of tires That averages out to 45k per set. What kind of tires were u using?

Wow, that's awesome. I thought you traded in your old GS. Cool to have both.

You're going to have a lot of fun with the new one.

I've tried several sets of Michelins and Dunlops (never could get more than 40K per) but now have my third set of 16" Bridgestone Turanza LSZ. The first two sets of Bridgestones got about 55K each and I have about 15K on this set and they look like new. They are the quietest and smoothest tires I have ever had.

Granted they are 16" which is a bit odd on a GS 400. They of course came stock with 17" but when I test drove a GS400 with 1998 technology 17" wheels and tires I thought the ride was too rough. I made it a condition of my sale to put 16" wheels on my new 98GS. This meant that my car sat at the dealer for about a month waiting on another car to swap wheels. I still remember that month lasting forever. So I clearly don't do much serious cornering but can say that they are great at high speeds.

Just not sure what I am going to do with it. I will most likely sell it in a couple of weeks after spring break trips are over. Don't have a clue as to value other than the $12K-$16K that the Blue Book says with 300K miles.

I agree the trunk is a bit odd but really like the opening and closing mechanism. I have not tried to put my golf clubs in yet but I have measured and they will fit. I do know that I usually carry a projector screen in my 98GS that won't fit in the 06. I am now looking for a smaller screen which is a small sacrifice to me.

That was one lucky person who got your 17's!?!

All through your 300K+ miles, any problems w/ electronics, like the CD player? (is it a 6-disc?)

Congrats on the '06... SOLID!!
