FSI is just Audi's spin on Direct Injection technology. FSI was actually derived originally from Audi's R8 LeMans race car ... so it's a race technology that trickled down to their consumer products.
Toyota, as far as I know, first introduced Direct Injection with consumer cars in Japan.
good to know...i run an audi site similar to this. I was always under the impression that Audi only had this technology as much as they tout it.
My new 06 GS300 has a ticking sound. Anyone have any opinion. Have not had a chance to bring to dealer, but the sound seems "normal", just not as quiet as the 98.
what every1 is saying is right because its a di(direct injection) and its a mech fuel pump
has anyone figured out a way to silence the ticking. i know that's just how it is and that its normal but if they created an additional silencer box or covering of some sort that would be perfect. as it stands my gs300 is quiter driving then standing still because of the ticking. would be cool to fix that.
