Question GS430 18x8 wheel offset? ** Update - 18x8 w/ 45+ offset

Hello,

I will be receiving my silver GS430 in about 2 weeks, and curently shopping for wheels.

Has anyone looked at the backside of their 18x8 GS430 wheel to see the offset stamped on it yet?

I assume it's 5x114.3 bolt pattern, and if the offset is similar to the 2nd gen GS, it should be in the 45-55+ offset.

Thanks for info.

Update on offset: 18x8 w/ 45+ offset.

Infiniti list the offset of their stock wheels in the owner's manual. Lexus doesn't at least for my SC430, but since this is a new model may be it's worth a try to look it up there too.

If you are looking for brand new wheels for your new GS, you actually shouldn't have to worry about it, the wheel dealers can find out for you which wheels will fit the car, this car is so new though so maybe it'll take them some time to get the info. If it's custom wheels like HRE etc., they will make it to fit your car.

I am going for wider wheels in rear like 10-10.5, so I need the stock offset, then custome build from there. Dealers I called didn't have a clue, custom wheel builder like Kinesis don't know the offset specs cause it's so new, and asked me to look behind the wheel. Uh, don't have the car yet to take off the wheel ...

Reason for stock offset is for reference point, example I seen about 2" extra room on the inside wheel well in the rear, therefore custom building a wheel, you would want atleast >= stock offset if you want 2-2.5" wider wheels else your wheel will stick out close to fender well. That's gonna be problems when you install 275-295 in the rears& drop the car in the future.

Haha, you quoted my post before I edited to say the info may not be available yet since it's so new, but some members here with new GS already decided on wheels maybe they can help you, like uscstan in THIS THREADor YL06GS in THIS THREAD

Also, for me at least.. no coilovers available = no wheels. When they become available, out come the new wheels. until then, I'll wait..I have a serious issue with the gap...
gene did you see the commercial with the black gs (two of them)? they have almost no gap and the car looks soooo much better. it's a must man. wait for the coilovers.

one thing i thought of was, since the new gs isn't in japan yet, will tein or other companies come up with something fast enough?

about the wheels... that's a tough one, not sure when companies like hre is going to have the first set ready

SilverGS43 contact SoCalSC4 he can give you an idea of what you will need. If you are going with 10 or 10.5 you will really need something custom. With the 9's we have there is not much room left.

Good Luck

I was looking through ebay and someone is selling a set of 06 GS430 18X8 rims. The seller stated the offset is +45. He also shows a picture of the stamp on the back of the rim and indeed it does say 18X8JJ 45 offset. In this case I'm confident it is 18X8 +45.

Since I had the 18" wheels off while changing tires I used a rule to measure. From rim lip to rim lip edge it actually was 9 inches. From the back of the flush bolt plate area to the back edge of the rim is 6 1/2". I hope this helps. Do you need the front measurement? I will look for numbers today. BTW I took off the Dunlop 5000 sport runflats and put on Michelin Pilot Sport AS 245-40-18's which are Z rated. It is raining today and these tires should be excellent in the rain. If we are blessed with a little snow then It will be a good test. We don't have any spare yet so my customer (David) will be running without a safety net until I can get one in.

Rockville, Ck6pseed:
Doing the math on Rockville's measurements, the offset on 18x8 is around 45-50mm+ offset, no need for front measurements cause all 4 wheels are the same. So that confirms CK6speed on his info. regarding the wheels on sale are 18x8 w/ 45+ offset.

Thank you gents...

The L-Tuned OZ Salinas were 18x8 (in front) w +45 offset so this seems like a comfortable spec for Lexus.
