Actually, the GS vs. RL (vs. M) thread was beaten to death a couple of months ago, and it got pretty ugly. I don't think anyone wants to go down that road again. ...
DSEAG2: Thanks for the notice. Agreed - no need to exhume any corpses. I can always go search those threads if interested.
FYI - I already made my decision too - I'm into my 4th day with my new GS.
Photographer? I won't give up the day job just yet!

I took some pictures tonight but they didn't turn out at all good. It is very challenging to take good pictures in very low light. The shutter speed has to be real slow to get enough light into the lens and when you do that the slightest movement of the camera creates a blurred image. You really need a tripod or some way to keep the camera perfectly still. I'm debating whether or not to put some of the better bad pictures up just to give you an idea. I can say for sure that with my camera equipment (or lack thereof) and with my photography skills (or lack thereof) that I won't be able to really capture that night time lighting experience that I mentioned. I'm sorry to say. You just have to be in the car at night to appreciate it. If you are really interested in the GS it is worth a trip to the dealer after sunset to sit in one on the lot in the dark. The darker the better in order to see all of the subtle effects.
Stay tuned.... maybe I'll put up a few pictures. But if they don't look good please don't let that color your impression until you see it in person.
Night Shot #1. You can see some of the effects of the overhead white LEDs if you look at the seat surface. The leather is Ash. Note also the spot light on the steering wheel. The car has an abundance of these subtle effects that combine to create a nice night time experience.
I tired to catch the dash illumination sequence when the engine fires up. I used a rapid multi-shot sequence to try to capture it. I was trying to hold the camera still in the dark and push the start button, meanwhile aiming through the steering wheel. As you can see the results are... Shot 3 preceeds Shot 4 by a second or so, but it looks cool as the display comes to life...
difficult to shoot pictures but very well done. I noticed on the one from the open door you could see the lights on the seats and center cousel. Thanks again.
