Default Saw an 06 GS two nights ago... headlight problem...

I saw an 06 GS a couple of nights ago- I took a look at the lights and yep- it had a condensation problem.

Looks like Lexus carried over that special feature with this new 3rd gen model.

yaaaaaaaaay.

Do other Lexuses (ES, IS, LS, RX, etc.) have this problem? If not, why does only the GS have this problem?

IS & RX can get condensation too; dont see a lot of LS/LX with it (also a lot lower UIO)

perhaps those vehicles have less or no issues because they are a hell lot more expensive? The others are low-priced to mid priced vehicles that do have condesnation issues....

(low priced to mid priced in Lexus terms)

Wow, looks like this is one of the first "known" problems for the 3rd gens already. I hope it's not as bad as the 2nd gens (here's mine).

this is already being discussed in another thread.. im not sure (correct me if im wrong)... but lexus purposefully made the headlights have vents so that the heat generated from the HID's can leak out of the housing... the vents allow condensation to build up inside the headlight housing but the HID (once turned on) generates enough heat to dry up the condensation.

question is.. is it true that it's done on purpose or if it's a factory error that has yet to be fixed...?

umm...... not sure if they need vent that badly? coz' i don't recall other cars having these condensation problems?

and seriously, having condensation inside is a bad idea one way or the other, no matter if it's venting related or not. when dried, sometimes they leave water marks -- bad idea.

same here, i would like to hear what they say about it too. see, knowing how smart lexus is, you would think they do things for a reason. but on this man, i am scratching my head badly....
