Default IPA Question

Will the IPA help when you're parking into a space with concrete block barriers and high curbsides ?

Does everyone know what I'm talking about ? How many times have we scraped the bottom of the front bumper when pulling into a parking space because the clearance between the street and the curb was higher than expected ?

you are SOL if there's a high curbside or side-walk, only detect things that are higher like lampposts or other cars.

Default Intuitive Parking Assist

It scans rearward up to 40" in the center of the bumper and 20" off the corners while in reverse . It does not distinguish the height of an object. It scans forward the same way when you are moving forward. It also figures whether you have clearance on your last pass and gives you an OK to pull out. The option code is WO. It is $500. It would need to be a pretty tall curb to save the chin spoiler. I don't have any with that option so I can't experiment with it. It overlaps with the rear backup camera in some ways but gives an audible tone that gets faster as you approach the object. You could use it blindfolded in a way. Some owners have injured their front bumper corners when backing up because the front sonar turns off in reverse. The tones from the front and rear sensors are slightly different. Hope that helps.
