Default 06 Factory Specs

I visited my local Lexus dealership today and got some factory specs on the GS. They are expecting to get 8 GS300, 2 GS300 AWD and 2 GS430 in early Feb. (before you guys in the mainland).

They don't have many information on the specs but I was able to get the following from them.

GS430:

0-400 Meter (1/4 mile): 14.2s
Top speed: 149mph
Rear differential: 3.769
Engine: V8 4.3L
HP/TQ: 300 @ 5600 / 325 @ 3400

GS300:
0-60: 6.8s
0-400 Meter (1/4 mile): 15.4s
Top speed: 143mph
Rear differential: 3.909
Engine: V6 3.0L
HP/TQ: 245 @ 6200 / 230 @ 3600

GS300 AWD:
0-60: 6.9s
0-400 Meter (1/4 mile): 15.5s
Top speed: 130mph
Front/Rear Differential: 4.1/4.1
Engine: V6 3.0L
HP/TQ: 245 @ 6200 / 230 @ 3600

seems like that's the same rear end as that on the current gs3/4 then in terms of the gear ratio

The GS350 and GS450h is for model year 2007 sold in 2006. They are not for 2006 model year.

Remember Lexus did the same when the current ES style came out it was ES300. After a year later the same body type with a larger engine was introduced as ES330.

I am holding off my purchase until the GS450h or the GS460 next year.

Great info. Thanks for the detailed model info. The GS300 AWD specs seem to be better than the Acura RL. Looks like the Lexus 6 speed transmission does a good job with the 245HP engine.

Does Lexus have any plans to make the 2007 GS450h with AWD ?

**Just to clarify to everyone here, all of the dates posted here doesn't pertain to US Lexus distribution.**

The MCV30 aka 2002 ES300 came out in Fall of 2001. The MCV31 ES330 came to us in Sept 2003 as a 2004 model which is the 3rd production year of the current ES.

can anyone here confirm that the gs hybrid will be out in FEB 06? If this is true, I guess i'll wait another 13 months, and maybe repaint my current car.

The GS450h is coming in September 2006 as a 2007 model. That is direct from Lexus HQ in Torrance.

Like I said before, the other info you are seeing is 3rd party speculation that doesn't pertain to Lexus USA.

Damn, Sept 06 is a real long time from now...I don't know if I can wait that long. Do you know if the 450h will be more expensive than the current 430?

man, personally i don't think lexus is stupid enough to release the hybrid so soon after the new gs come out. they can just live on the gs300 and gs430 for a while

regarding the price, i think once the rx400h come out we will know. the price difference between the rx400h and the rx330 is a good indication of how much the gs450h will be. maybe more if it has awd as well

How are the GS300 AWD specs better than the RL ones?

Interesting that the GS300 RWD and AWD times supposedly differ by only 0.1 seconds. I find that hard to believe. Where are these numbers coming from, Chu?

The information is from my local dealer. They don't have the brochures yet but they did show me the actual Lexus dealer spec sheet. The new GS is arriving on the first week of Feb. I will be test driving the GS430 when it arrives. They know that I am still going to wait until the GS450h or the GS460 next year.

I am sure that once the auto magazine get their hands on the GS430, M45 and BMW 545 there will certainly be a special issue comparing these models. At which time we will get a better idea how it really performs.

Wondering will the 3.5L replace the 3.0L or will they both be available? Also (I hope) the 3.5L will be able to get with AWD.
